A Wandering Moose

A Wandering Moose offers a variety of lodging options.  Whether you are traveling alone or with a large party you will feel right at home here.   All self-contained units offer kitchens or kitchenettes, private baths and outside grills.
They are all decorated with an Alaskan theme and equipped with continuous hot water.  They are all individually heated.  We pride ourselves in making sure that you are comfortable during your stay.

CABIN 1

From the log railing with carved bears outside to the log stairs draped with local furs inside Cabin 1 depicts true Alaskan style.  The cabin is constructed of hand-hewn ten-inch logs and offers you a place to stay in comfort while in Alaska.  Cabin 1 sleeps up to four with a queen-sized bed downstairs and two twin beds upstairs.  The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, large sink and enough counterspace to prepare a simple meal. The dining area has seating for four and there is a grill outside should you want to cook up your catch of the day.  The bathroom in this unit has a full-sized tub/shower combination.

EAGLE'S NEST

Eagle's Nest is the name given to this second floor unit.  It differs from the others in that it offers a full kitchen and large bathroom featuring a separate tub and shower. The Eagle's Nest sleeps up to six with four twin beds and a queen-sized sleeper sofa.

The Burrow
The Burrow is our newest unit and offers the only separate bedroom with a queen bed.  There is also a double Murphy bed making this unit perfect for two men or a small family.  The Burrow is also our most spacious unit offering a full-sized Kitchen and Bath as well as a small dining area.  The high ceilings make it feel even more spacious than it is.  The laundry area is just around the corner making it one of the most convenient units as well.

IMPORTANT TRIP PLANNING INFORMATION  Soldotna is a small community but offers everything you need.  It is located in the heart of the Kenai Peninsula and offers fine shops, large grocery stores, pharmacies, excellent restaurants and gift shops all with reasonable prices.  Because we do not serve meals many of our guests will go into town for groceries for  breakfast and packing lunches and then into Soldotna each evening for a nice dinner. However, you don’t need to leave the resort.  Many do all their cooking in their cabins and relax by the fire and enjoy the great river views.  Rental cars are a must, as you will need them for shopping, sightseeing and meeting your guides at different locations.
