A Wandering Moose is located on the banks of the Kenai River and is surrounded by the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.  We offer Fishing and Sight-seeing Packages to meet all your vacation needs and to help you experience your Alaska Dream Vacation.  Let us arrange for you to fish for King Salmon and Pacific Halibut with the best guides the Kenai Peninsula has to offer; including fly-out excursions.  Just a few steps from your private cabin allows you to fish away from the crowds for Salmon as well as Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden.  Take advantage of our 181 feet of river bank for uncrowded fishing.  For your convenience, we provide a fish-cleaning table on the dock along with a processing area and freezer space to store your catch until time to leave.

A Wandering Moose is the perfect place for the beginner fisherman or someone who wants to fish privately without crowds. There is wilderness across the river and behind us so probably the only people you will see are those in boats, yet we are only four miles from downtown Soldotna.
For the "non-fisherman"  the Kenai Peninsula offers biking, hiking, white water rafting, float trips, flight-seeing trips, glacier tours and more.  Perhaps you'd enjoy the local visitor centers, souvenir shopping or just settling in with a good book in the privacy of your cabin or in one of the hammocks by the river.  We also have a viewing area here where you can sit in comfortable chairs and watch others in your party fish from the bank.

Soldotna is 145-mile drive from Anchorage or a short, 30-minute commuter flight into Kenai, AK.  A Wandering Moose is just 18 miles from the Kenai Airport.    Car rentals are available in both Anchorage and Kenai.  We recommend that you drive from Anchorage, as it is one of the most scenic drives you will ever make.  You may see Beluga Whales as you drive around Turnagain Arm leaving Anchorage.  You will be traveling over mountains, rivers and by glaciers on your way to the Kenai Peninsula and there is always a chance you will see wildlife such as Moose, Bear, and Dall sheep on your way.
